Baby's First Pictures

Yes, I'm still alive. I even eat and breathe once in a while, too. :) But since Launi posted about the "alien" and the grape, it's about time I posted. With better pictures! Woohoo! So, here you go.

Isn't our little peanut cute? As you can see on the pictures, the ultrasound machine estimated the baby's progress as 9 weeks and 1 day, so that puts our due date as July 11. (So no more asking when he/she is due, understand?! ;) )

I personally think that hearing the heartbeat and seeing the baby before Launi (I love you, sweetheart.) were my favorite parts of the experience.

That, and all the loads of crazy free crap we got. The doctor gave us diapers, already. At least we'll have a couple in case we can't get them before July. :)

Baby Leavitt

Just in case you didn't figure it out from the last post, we are indeed pregnant! Hooray for babies! Our baby just happens to be about the size of a grape right now (hence, the picture).

Also, you should all congratulate Baby Leavitt...he/she just graduated from being an embryo to being a fetus! Way to go, Baby Leavitt!

Wow! What's this, and why is it on our blog, I wonder?....

Halloween Fun

Our friends the Reedys (who are, by the way, completely awesome) threw a Halloween/Nintendo/Murder Mystery party. Needless to say, good times ensued. :)

Josh went as the Prince of Persia....(by the way, I made his amazing armor...with a lot of help from mommy dearest.) :)

And I went as Madame Flurrie from Paper Mario. If you don't know who that is, just think "everything purple and lots of costume jewelry." Also think, purple face makeup + hot house = really gross.

These were the most awesome costumes! Kudos to Meagan and Carl (Toadette and Yoshi) for being super-creative. I still can't believe he sewed those things with no pattern whatsoever!

Some people have mega-hot husbands. I am pretty much the luckiest woman alive. :)

And uh, guess who ended up being the murderer? Mwahahahaha....

summer memories

Despite my last post, Josh has assured me he has no plans to put up anything within the next few years. That kid just doesn't buckle under peer pressure! Or even wife pressure! :) So it looks like you'll have to put up with more Launi for now. I realized I never posted any pictures from our Independence Day celebration in far-off Sevier county.

My mommy and (some of the) grandkids.

What parade would be complete without an old guy on a tractor? It's almost as important as the Rodeo Queen on her faithful steed. Hooray for Richfield! :)

Attack of the cutest girls I've ever seen!

This one is my favorite. After the picture they pretty much ripped that thing apart...yeah, Larson kids know how to take care of business. :)

Mustangs and Cheese Planes

My mom and I went shopping on Saturday...searching for "nice-looking glasses that look like they're made of glass, but aren't actually glass and are maybe kind of colored" for her kitchen (that was her actual description). We figured it would be a lot easier to find some nice non-glass glasses in Provo than in Richfield. We got stuck in terrible after-game traffic (it took half an hour to get from our apartment to University Parkway), but there were still some good points in the day:

1. We got to drive in my mom's new 2007 Mustang and feel really hot.
2. My dad got to take a good two-hour nap on my couch (he likes naps).
3. BYU won! (Although I can't say it was much of a contest).
4. My mom bought me an adjustable-thickness cheese plane.
5. We found the perfect glasses at Bed Bath and Beyond. :)

this is what happens when you ask for posts and i have nothing to post, angie

Once, there was a handsome boy named Josh. He fell in love with a bear named Beatrice. They sat on this bench and dreamed of their future together.

In fact, Josh loved all bears so much that he decided to sacrifice a lovely maiden to one of them.

But then the bears developed a taste for man-flesh, and so they ate Josh too. The end. (Pictures from our honeymoon in Park City. Enjoy them if you can't enjoy my weird imagination.)

i heart summer

So I was thinking how hot and miserable it has been in Provo, and then I ran across this picture taken last spring (yes, spring, not winter). It reminded me that I'm glad it's any season but fickle, fickle spring. Spring can't make up it's mind whether it wants to be summer or winter....silly season. :)

On August 5th, my niece Kayla is getting baptized, and Josh's new cousin Abigail is being blessed. Why is that cause for such a sad face, you ask? Because, since we need to be at both events, we are going to have to split up and it will be....our first night apart since we got married! *ominous thunder* That may sound pathetic to some, but we're not looking forward to it. We will just have to....be.... strong...somehow....*words lost as inconsolable sobbing commences*

Like many before me, I have discovered body butter. Pardon me while I bask in pure bliss. Aaaaaahhh......

california dreamin'

Well, we're back from our lovely week-long vacation to CA. All in all, it was pretty good--except for getting sick, both car and otherwise.

Our first stop was Lake Tahoe. It was gorgeous, especially with all of the trees and waterfalls. (And Launi being there helped with that, too.)

Next came Yosemite and our first bout of carsickness. (Hint: It's not a good idea to read while driving through the Sierra Nevadas.)

But in the end, the sights were worth seeing.

The next big stop was in San Francisco. (We think Launi might have actually left her heart there.) This was my first time seeing the Golden Gate Bridge and the Rock (Alcatraz, not the pro wrestler).

And of course there's Lumbard Street and Chinatown.

And what vacation wouldn't be complete without a visit to Death Valley. (Why? Only Dennis knows . . .)

EFY Fleece

So this is what I did all last week. Move the fleece, open the fleece, lift the fleece, roll out the fleece, cut the fleece, fold the fleece, box the fleece, move the fleece again. Me and my office pals, along with a few counselors and some of the ladies from Women's Conference, prepared about 20,000 yards of fleece for the EFY Service Project this summer. Whew!

Our hands got really gross (see the clean hands in the center for a reference!) and we got really tired and achy, but it will be worth it I'm sure!

Dani, me, Melissa, Adrianne, and Marta - takin' a break. :)

jenny and kristen and jo, oh my!

I also thought I'd post some pictures from the LD Singers concert I dragged Josh to last weekend. Good times!

she's a he, see?

So we discovered that our sweet little female bird, who Josh dubbed "Crazy Cora the Budgerigar" is actually a male bird. I had read that the skin above parakeets' beaks is brown or pinkish when they are female, and blue when they are male. I swear when we first got it, the skin was brown, but it's a definite blue now. So Josh has become extremely proud of him and renamed him the very masculine "THOR." My husband says he feels he can identify with the bird more now. I can't wait to see how he feels when we have seven daughters. :)

aspyre editing

Well, hello, everyone! I am here to announce a truly joyous occasion! My business has a website!

What business you ask? Well, I decided last week sometime that a good way to gain some experience in the editing world (and maybe earn some extra cash at the same time) would be to freelance as an editor for a while.

If anyone should happen to be interested in such a bizarre little website, visit it here webpub.byu.net/joshua13/. If anyone wants me to edit anything for them, I might just do it free of charge. Isn't that great?!

definition

So, I noticed the whole "dictionary" thing on the Reedy's site and decided to find out how I would be described in the dictionary later in years. The first one was fairly dirty; the second definition wasn't cool enough. But the last one . . .. Oh, that last one! Well, why don't you just see for yourself.

Joshua -- [noun]:A human transformer (Robot in disguise)

Isn't that great?

"I just found out my cable show only reaches 11 people!"

and I thought to myself, why did I even create this blog? i really think its only viewers are me, josh, angie, and joe. and maybe ellen. my family just isn't into "da web" and most of my friends are "too busy" (yeah right). it is a sad day in launia (land of the launis that joe created several years ago).

"pick a card, pick a card, pick a card, bawk bawk bawk!" (ang, if you can identify the movie the two quotes in this post came from, you will make my day).

This was taken on our wedding day. I wanted to put it on here to prove that I have the cutest red-headed niece EVER.

I live!!!!

So, I'm alive, somewhat. After a day of rest at home (hooray for skipping for classes), I feel a lot better. I'm just glad that my fever is gone. A lot of it is thanks to my awesome wife Launi. She's a wonderful nurse. :)

sick and afflicted

Sorry we haven't posted in a while....midterms...blech. I thought we were getting through them alright, but yesterday Josh came down with something. His joints hurt, his muscles feel shredded, he has a headache, he keeps coughing deep in his chest, and he had a fever of 102 last night (and he kept shivering and saying how freezing it was). Poor kid! And to top it all off, even though he was sick he had to spend several hours studying for a big test he had this morning. Good luck to him on that! Hopefully next time we post we'll both be in full health (I hope I don't catch what he has; I still can't resist kissing him!)

Terror at the 7-Eleven

Last night we made a quick slurpee run to help us through our mountains of homework. Little did we know the storm that was about to unleash.... :)

I went to get my favorite kind of slurpee (regular ol' cherry) and it wasn't coming out very fast. So I pushed the knob a little harder. Before I even knew what was happening, the cup shot out of my hand and I suddenly found myself, the machine, the floor, and everything else within a five-foot radius covered in red goop. They need to adjust the pressure on those things, man! At least it gave Josh a laugh. :) Needless to say, the people that came in after us were very cautious as they used the machine.

bringing home baby

Aww, I think Josh is going to cry. :) Our new laptop came home today, measuring 12 inches and weighing 4 lbs. 9 oz. Isn't it precious?

nothing says love like a laptop

I mean, just look at it. It's so cute. All blue and happy to see you, glowing in all of its Steve-Jobs-inspired wonderfulness! Who wouldn't dream . . I mean, drool . . . I mean, uh, want something like that?

new laptop forthcoming....

I know my girls will understand this, because we had a conversation at the party in December about our husbands' incessant talk about the coolness of gadgetry. ("But I still love technology, always and forever.") I finally gave in to his ploys to get an iBook on two conditions: one, we have to sell one of our old computers first; two, he can't buy a Nintendo Revolution right when they come out like he was planning. I no longer have to hear him say, "But Joe and Angie are getting a laptop with their tax rebate!" Now I just listen to him talk about how he will "never again worship at the altar of Bill Gates and Microsoft" (that's a direct quote) because Apples are SOOO much better. (I know it sounds like I'm mocking you, honey, but I'm not. I am actually just really amused at your tactics...you know why. Love and kisses!)
