So, the call finally came today! After over a month of unemployment, I am officially hired by the Daily Herald as a copyeditor. The hours aren't the greatest (3–12 p.m., 5 days a week), but it gives us money and frees my days to work on getting my master's degree at the Y. (Here's hoping they'll accept me into the program. :))
So, don't read the Herald for a while, at least until I get my feet under me. :)

Happy Vamlumtimes!
We had most of our celebrations yesterday since Josh's family is going to be up here today for State Wrestling. Since we're kind of short on the dough this year, we decided that we only got to spend $5 on each other for gifts, and we had 20 minutes at Wal-mart to pick them out! Josh got me a yummy scented candle and a cute little tin to hold our change (I've been complaining about the coins deposited all over our house). I got him some dark chocolate with raspberry filling and a little gun that shoots foam discs, which he delightedly used to attack me and Alex. :) Then we had Chili's to-go for dinner (thanks for the gift card Grandma Hunsaker!) and rented "Stardust" from the redbox. We really liked the movie and highly recommend it to all!
And this morning, we had some lovely French Toast. If you look closely, you can kind of see how I tried to be creative and make them all lovey-dovey. Aww, fer cute! :)
Now go celebrate by watching a holiday classic here. And remember, Valentimes is serious times!

Today
My baby got up at 2 hours earlier than usual this morning. He had a nosebleed during the night and it was all over the sheets. He wanted to be held all day long, and screamed if I went out of his sight. He has a cold or something and can't breathe through his nose very well, thus making naptime difficult (since he has to have his binky in his mouth). He had sticky, stinky, nasty black mess in his diapers. He spilled dark juice all over his clothes. My whole house smells like vinegar because I used it to try to get the stains out. Alex barfed up his dinner through both his mouth and nose, directly onto my face. We had to hold him down while he freaked out in order to suction rice cereal and chunks of peaches out of his nose. I have vomit in my hair but I'm too exhausted to care enough to shower and get it out.
And still...
I love my baby boy and there's nothing I would rather do than be his mom! Even on the tough days. I love you, Alexander.
It's also nice to have a husband who will help you with the baby all day long, and then still be willing to go get you a pizza for dinner and rent you a couple of movies from the library so you can finally relax after the baby goes to bed. I love you, Josh.
And I am proud of myself because I made it through the day without crying. I love you, me. :)

Mother of Three
No, this is not an announcement that I'm pregnant with twins. :) Like Josh said, Alex and I spent this last week in Layton watching my sister's kids while she went on a business trip. I really wasn't looking forward to being away from Josh for so long, but he was able to sneak up there and be with us a couple of times. So it really wasn't bad at all. Jordan and Jayelle were very good, and they had such a fun time helping me with "Little Baby Alex." They loved feeding him, letting him chew on their fingers, and helping him make silly noises. (His new favorite thing. See video below). I don't think I'd want to do it again any time soon, but I now I know I will be okay someday when I really am a mother of three (or more)!
(And I really don't know why I turned the camera sideways for the last few seconds of this video, so just endure). :)

My new obsession…
So, I'm a little behind the times. Last year, when the TV series Heroes came out and everyone was talking about it, I'll admit I was a little skeptical. I mean, come on, "Save the cheerleader, save the world"? What decent show has that as one of the most memorable catchphrases?
And then I rented the first two discs of season 1. Once past the (unfortunately) nearly inevitable primetime sleaze, I was absolutely hooked. I couldn't stop watching. Launi has been in Layton watching her sister's kids, so she wasn't there to rein in my insanity. In the end, I only went to sleep (at 3 a.m.) because I didn't have any more episodes that I could legally watch.
Hi, my name is Josh. And I'm a Heroes addict…
