Alex was blessed in the same outfit that his daddy was blessed in over 24 years ago! He was such a good boy too; he was wide awake for the entire blessing, but didn't make a peep.
We were lucky to have many members of both sides of the family there for his special day.
What a sweet little fam we are!We officially made it through our first night with Alex without my mom here to help! I wasn't sure it was possible! Granted, I didn't stay in our bed much with Alex waking up and fussing, but I still even got a decent amount of sleep in between waking up to stick the plug back in his mouth. :) He really is a good little baby.
Alex wasn't such a big fan of bath time at first, but as soon as we stuck that warm washcloth under his chin, he calmed right down! He also really loved having warm water poured over the top of his head.
I thought he couldn't get any cuter, but this bathrobe sure helped to enhance the cuteness factor. :)
All tuckered out!
So, Launi's water broke around 1:30, and once she woke me up at 2:30 to time the contractions, we were at the hospital within about half an hour. She was dilated to 5 cm then; two or three hours later, she was at 7 cm. After a few hours (and a good dose of oxytocin), our little Alexander cried for the first time. It wasn't nearly so gross as I thought it would be, and I even cut the cord! (But I didn't watch the IV or the epidural go in. Let's not get crazy.)
As you can probably guess, it's been a long day. We're thinking of just feeding Alex and letting him play in the nursery for a while. We're both exhausted.
