I'm a Model. Totally.
Check it out:
Hugamonkey Baby Slings
And while you're there, do yourself a favor and buy one (they have a lot more patterns than just the one I'm modeling). I love my sling! I find myself wondering how I lived without it. And then I remember; I lived with sore arms and back from hauling my chunk around all the time. Because seriously, Alex is a big boy!
(By the way, this is a great shot of his little teeth. Click to enlarge.)

Sleepy Boy
There have been several times lately that I've caught Alex napping in this very uncomfortable-looking position.
My guess is he went to the edge of the crib to pull himself up to standing and cry for me to come get him, but halfway through just decided it wasn't worth it. :)

Jimmy Eat World Concert
Our good friends the Blakes invited us and the Reedys to the Jimmy Eat World concert last Monday! What an amazing show!
Paramore and another group called Dear and the Headlights were the openers, and they were pretty good....
...but you can't beat Jimmy! I'm sure we sustained some hearing loss from listening to them at the concert, but it was so worth it! :)
Thanks, Kirk and Kelli, for an awesome time!

Alex hates Mondays.
Our little boy had a rough day yesterday.
1) He fell down the stairs at my mom's house. I was in the hall, Josh was in the front room, and we though Alex would just crawl to where I was. When we heard the "whump whump whump," we pretty much freaked out. He wasn't hurt, just scared really badly (as were we). We all cried.
2) While visiting my brother's family, Alex's little cousin accidentally whacked him in the face with a Nerf gun. He cried pretty hard, but Josh and I didn't join this time. :)
3) We went to a concert (pics to follow soon) and while being babysat, Alex accidentally got some hand sanitizer in his eye. Luckily his quick-thinking sitters flushed his eyes with water and called Poison Control to see if there was anything else they could do.
After all of this, he's totally fine. But still...what a day! Poor kiddo.

One Voice Reunion
This last Saturday, we went to a reunion for the choir that Josh and I were in during high school. It was fun to see some old friends and do a little performance with the current One Voice members. This group is especially important to us because, had we not both joined, we may have never met.
My mom watched Alex while we rehearsed all day, and he had a good time chasing the cat and eating rocks. Thanks to both of our families for coming to watch us do "spirit fingers" and other such lovely choreography. :)

Happy Birthday to My Best Friend!
I love you, sweetheart, and I hope your day is wonderful! Congratulations on your first quarter of a century!
Also, happy 1st birthday to Bridger! It sure was nice of Jeremy and Kelsie to give Josh a nephew for his birthday last year.
